Dr. Francis Teng helps patients considered dangerously overweight to gain control over their bodies, health, life, and self-esteem. Dr. Teng, a board-certified General Surgeon (American Board of Surgery), a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons (ASBS), is Chief of Surgery and Medical Director of the Bariatric Surgery Program at MountainView Hospital (HCA).
Dr. Teng completed his surgical residency at the renowned Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He brought his compassion and advanced technology skills to Las Vegas in 1998. As a specialist in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, he has performed thousands of procedures including:

In his specialties, Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass and Laparoscopic Gastric Banding, alone, Dr. Teng has performed more than 350 procedures. As a general surgeon, he also performs such procedures as breast surgery and thyroid-parathyroid surgery.
Dr. Teng has been performing Lap Band surgery in Las Vegas since 2002. Additionally, he incorporated the latest "Sleeve Gastrectomy" procedure in his surgical weight loss program which has been proven as an effective alternative and is gaining popularity with those seeking for surgical intervention.
Dr. Teng's passion for bringing long-term weight loss to morbidly obese patients led him to develop the comprehensive bariatric program at MountainView Hospital in 2002.
